I'm new to the district. How do I register my student for bus transportation?

Any student who did not ride the bus the previous year, has changed schools, has changed home addresses, or is new to the district must download and complete the Busing Registration Form 674 and email the returned copy to Transportation’s Router & Support Specialist. How are school bus stops established?

Routes are established to serve all students in an area in a safe and reasonable manner. Every effort is made to establish school bus stops near where students live. Stop locations and distances may also vary depending upon the number of students in an area and the type of area (urban/rural) being served.

What time does my student need to be at their assigned bus stop?

Students must be at their assigned bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. The bus cannot wait beyond the scheduled time of departure.

I have a kindergartener; are there any special requirements for school bus pick-up and drop-off?

Yes, all kindergarteners MUST have an adult or approved person waiting for them at the bus stop after school. If no one is waiting, the student will be returned to their school.

Can my student ride on a bus that is not their registered bus?

No. We cannot transport students on buses they are not registered on, and schools will not issue bus passes. Students can only ride on the route they are assigned to.

Can my student get off at a bus stop that is not their assigned stop?

No. Students may only get off the bus at their assigned stop.

My student has choiced into another school within the district other than their address-assigned school. Are they eligible for bus transportation?

No. Any student attending a school outside their designated school attendance boundary by choice will be required to provide their own transportation.

There is no room for my child at the designated school in our area, so my child has been assigned to another school. Will you provide transportation to and from the school to which they have been assigned?

Yes. If a student is overloaded to a school outside of their designated boundary, the district will provide transportation to and from.

My student needs to ride the activity bus after school. Where do they pick up a pass for the Activity Bus?

Your student can pick up an activity bus pass from their respective coach.

How do I know what stop my student will need to get off at on the Activity Bus?

Please check the Activity Bus Maps for your student’s closest stop. In rural areas, the closest stop may be a considerable distance from the student’s home.

How is my student’s bus route affected in the event of a school delay due to weather?

For a school delay due to weather, schools will start 2 hours late (1 hour on Fridays). Therefore, your school bus pickup will be 2 hours later (1 hour on Fridays). Please visit our Inclement Weather webpage for more information.
