Cheney Public Schools Staff and Families, 

The district has undergone a rigorous process to select a Cheney Middle School Principal. The process involved screening, a writing scenario, a day of preliminary interviews with a staff panel and a student panel, and a final day of interviews with the leadership team, the superintendent and assistant superintendent, as well as an open forum for staff, families, and the community. A special thank you to those that participated in the process. 

There were three candidates selected out of the application pool to go through the interview process and each one of them is a talented administrator. Our hope was that we would select the next Cheney Middle School Principal through this exercise, however, the collective feedback leads us to reopen the principal application process. This decision was not an easy one, yet, we look forward to the successful completion of hiring the next Cheney Middle School Principal. 

We anticipate a second round of interviews for this position to take place in mid-July, with an announcement to follow as quickly as possible.
