Press Release - Teacher of the Month

October 18, 2019 -
Cheney Public Schools is pleased to announce that Salnave Elementary School teacher Kyndle Palmer has been selected as Eastern Washington University’s Teacher of the Month.
In an assembly at Salnave Elementary School on Friday, Oct. 18, KHQ Wake Up Show anchors Leslie Lowe and Kalae Chock presented Ms. Palmer with the honor in an emotional surprise ceremony in front of the student body. Ms. Palmer teaches fourth and fifth-grade and was nominated by fifth-grader Emma Plewnarz.
“She’s so kind and she helps everyone else and she talks with people one on one,” Plewnarz said. “I sometimes stay in at last recess and talk with her and she’s just amazing.”
Palmer, who has been teaching for 10 years, called being selected a true honor. “I love working with my students,” Palmer said. “They make such a difference in my life, too.”
The Teacher of the Month program is a collaboration between Eastern Washington University’s education department, KHQ Local News, and Spokane Teachers Credit Union to recognize outstanding local teachers for their excellence.
The District is fortunate that Ms. Palmer has chosen to share her expertise with the children of the Cheney Public Schools.
