Substitute Forms and Information

Cheney Public Schools is looking for qualified substitutes to work in our schools. We are pleased that our current substitutes chose to substitute with our district. The role of our substitutes can be challenging and demanding, but also very rewarding. We recognize that every substitute is a crucial member of the district and plays an important part for the success of every student. For more information regarding substituting with Cheney Public Schools, please contact:

If you are interested in classified substitute positions with nutrition services, custodial services, or student transportation please contact the appropriate department as listed below:

Emergency Substitute Teachers

To qualify to become an Emergency Substitute Teacher, you must have a bachelor's degree. Please fill out the Certified Substitute Application and forms, and include a copy of your unofficial transcripts. Follow the checklist that is included with the Certified Substitute Application and contact Leigh Lubbers to schedule a time to turn in your application. Go to the following OSPI website and create an account so a request for your emergency certification can be done.

Cheney Public Schools uses the program Absence Management to manage the substitutes and the substitute positions available. Here are some links for helpful tips and instructions on navigating through this program. You can call or email Leigh if you have any questions or need some help as well.
