Cheney School District Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Program
The mission of the Cheney Public Schools Guidance and Counseling Program is to provide all students with consistent comprehensive guidance to encourage growth in their academic, personal/social, and career development.

All students have the right to access the Cheney School District's comprehensive guidance and counseling program.
Guidance Curriculum
The guidance curriculum component consists of structured developmental lessons designed to assist students in achieving the competencies and is presented systematically through classroom and group activities.

Responsive Services
The responsive services component consists of activities to meet students' immediate needs. These needs may require counseling, consultation, referral, peer mediation or information.

System Support
The systems support component consists of the professional development; consultation, collaboration and teaming; and program management and operation activities that establish, maintain and enhance the total school counseling program.

Individual Planning
The individual planning component consists of school counselors coordinating ongoing systemic activities designed to assist the individual student in establishing personal goals and developing future plans.
