Qmlativ Migration

Overview

Cheney Public Schools will be undergoing a significant information system upgrade in 2025 as we are transitioning from Skyward SMS 2.0 to Skyward Qmlativ in July.

Skyward SMS--the information system the district currently uses for data management--is becoming outdated and impossible to upgrade. Qmlativ is the next generation of Skyward SMS, offering a user-friendly design and easy-to-navigate interface. This move will provide enhanced functionality across all areas of our data management.

This project represents a significant undertaking for Cheney Public Schools, and district administrators and representatives have been preparing for this migration since Summer 2024. It requires the district to migrate clean, high-quality, and accurate data. To complete this migration, Cheney Public Schools will be unable to access both Skyward and Qmlativ from July 16 through July 31, 2025.

With such a major technological upgrade, there will be setbacks and struggles. Your patience and flexibility are appreciated!

July 16-31: Dark Days - There will be no access to Skyward or Qmlativ during this date range.

I am a parent/guardian in the district. What do I need to do to prepare for this change?

As a parent/guardian, how will the Qmlativ migration impact me?

As a parent/guardian in the district, you will be most impacted during the migration July 16-31, as you will not have access to either Skyward SMS or Qmlativ. During this migration, Skyward SMS will be inaccessible to everyone. When Qmlativ is launched at the beginning of August, the user experience should be very similar. The same information will be available to parents/guardians, just in a new interface and platform.
