Reimbursable Meal and Meal Pricing
Meal Pricing
All students enrolled in the Cheney School District qualify for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), and are eligible to receive one reimbursable breakfast and one reimbursable lunch free of charge each school day. All meals must be eaten on school property.
Families who believe they may qualify are encouraged to submit a benefits application. To learn more about the benefits application and check out the income guidelines click here.

Reimbursable Meals Explained
A reimbursable breakfast
To qualify for a free, reimbursable breakfast, students must take at least 3 items, one of which must be at least ½ cup of fruit.
Maximum allowed items: 1 entrée, 1 miscellaneous item OR 2 miscellaneous items, 1 milk, and up to 2 servings of fruit/vegetables — for a total of no more than 5 items. Unwanted items may be placed in the share bin for other students. Students who are still hungry are welcome to take items from the share bin or return to the line for additional fruits and vegetables at no extra charge.
A reimbursable lunch
To qualify for a free, reimbursable lunch, students must take at least 3 components, one of which must be ½ cup of fruit or vegetable.
As with breakfast, unwanted items can be placed in the share bin, and students may return for more fruits and vegetables if they are still hungry.

Important Note
Students who do not take the required components for a reimbursable meal will be charged for the individual items they select. The federal meal program only covers meals that meet the full reimbursable criteria.
