Preparing Students for Success After High School

In our schools and in schools all across our country, teachers are helping students meet the rigors of the new Common Core State Standards, standards that provide consistent guidelines about what students should know and be able to do at each grade level through their K-12 careers to ensure that they can graduate ready for college or the workplace.

Educators from all of the states participating in the Smarter Balanced Assessments collaborated to develop high-quality assessments that provide more accurate and meaningful information about what students are learning. These assessments replace existing tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics for grades 3-8 and high school.
