When our region is experiencing inclement weather, the Superintendent will work closely with the transportation department to determine whether a delay or closure is necessary. We will do our best to make this determination as early as possible and by 5:30 a.m. at the latest. Once a decision is made to delay or close school, an email will be sent to all staff and then provided to students and families via School Messenger (goes to media outlets as well). Please note that a communication is not typically sent out if school will be held as normal.
This year will be the first winter where we will possibly have delays while utilizing a staggered start schedule. As in past years, if a delay is necessary Monday - Thursday, we will run two hours later than the normal daily schedule. In the announcement it will state that we are on a two-hour delay and all schools are running two hours later than the normal start times and buses will run approximately two hours later than regular schedules as well. If a delay is necessary on a late start Friday, we will run one hour later than the normal Friday schedule (buses and school start times). The various start times for each school will not be listed out. If the weather warrants a closure, an announcement will be made as soon as possible on the morning the closure will occur.
