Westwood Middle School’s FBLA sent 5 members to the State Business Leadership Conference in Bellevue, WA, where over 1,500 members from over 100 different schools attended. This team brought home 13 plaques and medals in 10 different events with 2 members qualifying for Nationals in San Antonio, TX on June 29-July 2, and state champions in 5 events.
Jason Hatfield was the State Champion in three events: Business Math, Computer Applications, and Computer Science and Coding. He will be competing at FBLA National Leadership in Computer Science and Coding. The other two state champs were Carolyn Currin in Business Etiquette, in which she will be competing at Nationals, and Nia Guest for Ethical Leadership. Nia Guest also finished as state runner-up in Elevator Speech. Westwood also had two 3rd place, two 4th place, a 5th place, 6th place, and a 7th place finish.
