    Hey parents/ guardians, juniors and seniors!  Do you want to know more about the FAFSA that is out on Oct. 1 this year?  Are you looking to go to play sports at the collegiate level?  Come to our Plan now night from 6-7pm on September 28th.  A representative will be coming from Whitworth University to give information on the FAFSA and a representative from Gonzaga University will be here to inform you about the NCAA Guidelines so you are eligible to play at any college in the US!  We will also have sessions that will help guide you with next steps in your junior in senior years and give you a time line of when you should be getting things done to continue your life after high school!

    For seniors only!  On September 29th, we will be hosting a T-2-4 circuit where representatives from different colleges, apprenticeships and the military will be around to talk to you about the pathway you would like to take after high school. 

    College Circuit at Northtown

    September 29, 2016

    For All!  On Thursday September 29th, from 5:30-8 there will be a T-2-4 Circuit (t = Technical school, 2 = 2 year college, 4 = 4 year university) at Northtown Mall.  There will also be scholarship, FAFSA and financial aid workshops there for you to attend.  This event will be in be at the Northeast Entrance of the mall near Buffalo Wild Wings and Kohls!

  • Washington State 2016 Healthy Youth SurveyHYS

    Our district is participating in the Washington State 2016 Healthy Youth Survey during the weeks of October 10th – 21st.

    The Healthy Youth survey includes questions related to physical activity and diet, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, communities and state agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks.

    The Healthy Youth Survey is given to students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 across Washington State.

    Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous.

    Please read the Parent and Student Notification flyer for more information about the Healthy Youth Survey. Please call 559-4000 if you have questions or would like to opt your student out of participating.

    Are you looking for an Athletic Packet for 2016-17? Great News! All paperwork is NOW online via Skyward Family Access. The only items that will require you to come to the CHS Business office starting August 9th at 8am-4pm are to drop off the physical form and make payment of the ASB fee.

    Do you want to be notified as soon as games are cancelled or changed? Click the orange SUBSCRIBE button on the right hand side of the Athletic page. You can select which sports and teams to subscribe to so that you can have up to date status of games.

    Also, remember to check your team's schedule regularly! Games change as frequent as the Northwest weather!

  • Congratulations Blackhawks!

    U.S. News has ranked Cheney High School as one of the best High Schools in the Nation for 2016.  They reviewed 28,561 U.S. public high schools; 466 Washington schools made the rankings.

    Using state test scores, AP test scores, and enrollment data along with a comprehensive methodology, CHS was given College Readiness Index score, with the top-scoring 6,500 schools receiving a gold, silver or bronze medal and - in the case of gold and silver schools - a numerical ranking.
