    2014 Spokane Scholars

    Please take a moment to congratulate our 2014 SpokaneScholars!  This year’s banquet marked the 22nd annual awards ceremony forthe Spokane Scholars Foundation, a volunteer organization that raisesscholarship money through donations from Spokane businesses and individuals.


    This year, Cheney High School had one grant recipient: TylerBennett.  This is something to celebrate—the competition was fierce andall area high schools were represented.  Please, if you see or know any ofthese students, congratulate all of our very own Spokane Scholars!!!!!

    U.S. News has ranked Cheney High School as one of the best High Schools in Washington State for 2014.  They reviewed 31,242 U.S. public high schools; 133Washington schools made the rankings

    Using state test scores, AP test scores, and enrollment data along with a comprehensive methodology, CHS was given College Readiness Index score, with the top-scoring 4,707 schools receiving a gold, silver or bronze medal and - in the case of gold and silver schools - a numerical ranking.

    The Best High Schools rankings, which are available online only, are produced in conjunction with the American Institutes for Research, one of the largest behavioral and social science research organizations in the world.  With today's launch, U.S. News has published detailed information on more than 19,400 public high schools, including school-specific data on enrollment, ethnicity, location, school type and results of state assessment proficiency tests and Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests.

  • Cheney Public Schools and CHAS are pleased to announce that Sunset School Health Center is expanding services and will be open to all Cheney School district students! 

    • If you would like to access services for your child prior to completing a registration packet, please call Sunset School Health Center at 509-444-8200 (TTY 509-328-1392). 
    • At this time, health center hours will be Monday - Wednesday, 8am-2:15pm, Thursdays 8am-4pm and Friday 9am-2pm. The center is closed on weekends and holidays.
